Travelled down to Waterford today to capture stage 7 of the An Post Ras. Really enjoyed the event even if it was over in five minutes.

Comments welcome, I would highly recommend going to see the last stage tomorrow.

Looks like a lot of action Dave, the colours really pop. Cant help feeling you were
a little bit close though (maybe lens restrictions?) it would have been nice to see a
complete bike in the shots, but some of the facial expression on the cyclists are great.

I really like No8, I like the way you separated the only rider not wearing glass.
    Nice Work

Thanks for comments, for me these guys were way too fast. I took these just after a hairpin bend on a climb but they were still way too fast. I had a zoom lens on for the first shot who were 3 minutes ahead of the main group. If I stuck with that I would have got nothing, I changed to my nifty fifty and done my best. I’m happy enough with the results.

I really like the second picture. It would have been perfect if the bike wasn’t cropped, but the background and the posture are doing it for me. Before posting the comment I thought people across the street had a better angle, but actually staying in the hair pin gave you a better opportunity. Agree with the other comments about a wider perspective…perhaps. Then again, great set, very colourful, like all pelotons are :)

Some nice picts there, but you seem very high. Standing tall? You might get a better angle (and make them look more impressive) if you got a bit lower.

    A nice set though.

Thanks for the comments. Paul, that’s the first time I’ve been accused of being Tall  but you’re quite right as there was a step up to the ditch. A lower perspective would certainly have made for better shots.

    Dave.
