Messing again with ideas. I really struggled to crop this shot as the model has a very square face. Comments and critique welcome as usual :)

    Grin… :)

    Daddy’s proud!

I think, in terms of balance, this is your best work so far Ali. Hairlight is “squaring” her jaw and adding a splash of light to her neck (would have been interesting to see the shot with a bit less of this to narrow her jaw slightly). collarbones are excellent, tonal balance is excellent, composition is excellent.

    IMHO of course :)

I like the shot…….lighting etc are well done……..highlight on her lower a tad bit bright but other wise it is nice………

This is a master class in positioning, lighting and framing.
Thanks for posting, it gives us novices a really good idea of what we should be aiming
    for.

Nice picture and a pretty model. You’ve done a great job with the lighting and, while I’m not normally too keen on the model’s hair being blown up, think it works very well here (I suppose you could say not a big fan of fans :) ).

My only nit-pick is that from this angle you are looking up her nose, making her nostrils (and to a lesser extent her jaw line) maybe a bit too prominent feature in the pic.

    Still a nice shot though.

 wow thanks a million for the comments all. Delighted you like it. I have to agree with you Ellude, my main concern was the jawline.
I have a good few shots of this lady so i might have another look and see what i can come up with. Thanks again :)

….on the other hand having her head tilted back gives a very nice look to the neck, so maybe a case of apples and oranges, lol.

All the technical aspects are there!! An image filled of sensibility? the hand, the touch of sweetness .. and the eyes the touch of sensuality.

Congratulations Ali, your work its fabulous!!

One of your best, I’d have to say Ali. On a technical level I can’t really fault it. It’s not my favourite shot of yours, but I have no idea why, as everything looks good to me!

I’d perhaps like a little more DOF, ato bring both eyes totally into focus -, but not entirely decided on this… My eyes are drawn to HER left eye, but her right eye is in sharper focus (if that makes sense). Not an issue, just an observation more than anything…

I am not sure about the rotated crop within the black background, but can see why you’ve done it. Nice range of tones from light to shadow, and a very attractive model.
