    Sorry,
    I know nothing about birds-

These are so easy, its really cheating.
If you stop on the canal bank,
    they gather around, expecting sandwiches.

I had to take this guy’s picture just to get rid of him-
    though the whites aren’t easy

    Thanks Noely,
not as good as your Pidgeon though,
but that one looks like you’re keeping it as a pet-

    Thanks Terry,
Bit of a shame about the shadow on the breast-
These birds just love getting their picture taken though-
    it really is cheating-

The long neck is a bit of a problem compositionally,
they deserve more time than I gave them today-

    Thanks again-

    Beautiful shots Joseph.
First one’s a stunner. Fantastic work on those
    whites, compositionally sound.
Hope it didn’t consume your entire lunch.

The first is a fine shot, love the dropplets, but the long straight neck is a problem for me. I would prefer a curved or the classic S shaped neck.
The second is grand except that the bird was moving into shadow and there is a very distinct shadow line across the breast.
They are easily photgraphed, the trick is getting a shot that stands out from all the normal ones, these for me are normal swan shots.

jb the first one is similar to mine, I think though yours is pin sharp. I love the reflecting water droplets.
    Very good.
