Just wondering what the purchased version is like.
Also just read other threads about jpeg or tiff and i always was led to believe that jpegs lost their quality over time so you should always save as tiff—is this not true?
v4hondaMemberjpegs do not lose quality “over time” it is repeated saving that causes jpegs to lose quality – the jpeg format is lossy meaning that each and every time you save the same jpeg file some of its data gets discarded.

Tara,
I have the full version, and it is definitely a notch or two above the free version in terms of features. However, a few months ago Adobe bought out Pixmantec, and you can no longer buy Rawshooter Premium. Adobe clearly saw it as a threat to Lightroom, and no doubt threw lots of money at Pixmantec to make sure they got the result they wanted. I think that the Rawshooter team are now working with Adobe to help incorporate some of their better ideas.
Luckily, because I bought the full version of Rawshooter, Adobe will give me the full version of Lightroom for free when the beta stage finishes!! It is looking set to be a great program costing about ?100, so I’m pretty chuffed!
nolongerParticipantI hope that Adobe uses the Rawshooter gang to improve the SPEED of Lightroom – at least in windows, that thing is a PIG.

It’s worth noting that Lightroom (for non-Rawshooter Premium users) will be sold for ?249.00 ex VAT. However there is an introductory price of ?175.00 ex VAT until April 30, and a free trial will also be available for download as of the 19th.
andy mcinroyParticipantIf you enjoy using Rawshooters then I would recommend moving to Bibble as a low cost alternative. It has a similar feel to it and hasn’t been bought by Adobe yet !!
It is powerful and very fast.
I gave it a test run after is was quick to support the K10D. The “Lite” version at ?30 does everything I need.

nolongerParticipantI’ve tried using Bibble, and while I like it, it’s still a bit on the slow side in comparison. However, it does have a lot more functionality than Rawshooters too.
ThorstenMemberI still maintain that if you’re a Canon user, then DPP is hard to beat. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some other converters have but it’s easily the best free converter out there.
