Anyone buy from Dzone before?

Hi,

I have come across 2 lenses I would like to buy on Ebay from a crowd called Dzone. They are in Hong Kong and have free delivery to Ireland.

Just wondering has anyone had any experience buying from them?

I am unsure whether to go ahead with the purchase until I find out what the story is with import duties, taxes etc…

Any help greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of a better crowd to deal with please let me know or PM me if you want.

Hi – there is a 90% chance your item will be impounded – and you will get a bill for 21% vat on the cost of the item – plus a handling fee.
On some items they charge excise + 21% on that too.

Some items do get through though….so you have to calculate the risk.

Wow! Thank you Bren. Just as well I didn’t follow through with the purchase. Over 500Euros for 1 lens alone.

Just goes to show you that it’s worth the money buying gear a bit more local…
