So you think you’re having a bad day!

Bit of blur I know, but the light was low, and it was (thankfully! ) far away.

    Hi markst33,

It was taken at a rodeo on 4th July in a small town called Crawford, in Nebraska USA.
These guys were on the most enormous bulls you’ve ever saw!
My daughter thought it was a rag doll being tossed around and trampled, until the “rag doll” got up, and (very gingerly) walked away.

Here’s another couple from the same evening:

Nebraska is not a well-known holiday destination, but a great place to go IMO, with some excellent photo opportunities.
I’ll post some more images, in the travel section, when I get a chance to edit.

great shots Rog! I know what you mean about Nebraska not being a tourist destination, unfortunately I have to go occasionally with work, but I never saw many good photo opportunities. I’m going back in a couple of weeks though so will keep an eye out. Can you let me know where this is in Nebraska? might see if I can take in a bull ride while I’m over there. I’ll be in Columbus if you’ve any recommendations.

    Hi Sharon,

It’s well for you heading off to Nebraska, I’d love to be going back.
We were based in the north-west of the state, sometimes called the panhandle, about 30 miles south of Chadron, and north of Scottsbluff.

The rodeo was only in Crawford for a couple of days. They travel all around the state, so you could enquire while over there, you might be lucky in there being a rodeo near you on your trip.
A must see if possible IMO.

I see Colubbus is over on the east side of Nebraska. Didn’t get over that area (distances are so vast), so I don’t know what the scenery etc is like. However, it was more the delapidated old barns, wrecked cars and the like that I was attracted to photographically (in B&W especially). Not so much in the line of sweeping scenery.

Enjoy your trip and if you get any nice shots, I hope you post them.

    Regards rog
