Anyone seen the space shuttle
-
cathaldParticipant
Saw this tonight and must admit I never saw anything
fly faster across the sky
Now if I were a drinking man  and had seen these lights
without knowing what was going on I would have been onto
the local radio station telling them I saw a U.F.OCathal
CormacParticipantWe were pox lucky the sky was clear enough to see the shuttle last night – it really looked sensational, more so than the international space station a few months back.
There is another appearance either tonight or tomorrow.SeoirseMemberkenhParticipantcathald wrote:

Now I am a drinking man, but knew what I was looking for, and still thought it was a UFO
And that was through the usual omnipresent Cork layer of sea mist! It was even more pathetic that
I tried to shoot it with a 300mm f4 lens :cry:aoluainParticipantCormacParticipantmiki gParticipantjessthespringerParticipantmiki g wrote:
or possibly other spacers? :D
hmm, yes, there are a few spacers alright! hehe…
Just heard on the radio it will be visible again tonight, 10.32 pm
PeteWMemberAccording to the link above – 10:53PM for us up north.
SHUTTLE
Fri Jul 17/10:53 PM
5 – Duration (MIN)
32 – MAX ELEV (DEG)
10 above W – Approach (DEG-DIR)
10 above SE – Departure (DEG-DIR)ISS is the same so can only assume they have, or are close to being, docked.
Now if only I remember to check ….
Alan RossiterParticipantJust saw it going over. I saw a couple of satellites going over from north to south and then from south to north and thought..nah, couldn’t be them, could it. Then it went over…big bugger. You can’t miss it and it went straight overhead. Amazing to think there’s 13 people in it.
Alan
jessthespringerParticipantI saw it too, pretty amazing, really big, and it is amazing to think there are that many people on board. Perfect night to view it too,
hardly a cloud in the sky.Nice to see a little bit of history in the form of a ‘space chase’ on the day that’s in it. As they say…
