Anyone watching the World Snooker ?

Been watching Steve Davis playing some of the best snooker of his life
over the past few days. Beat world #1 and reigning champion John Higgins
earlier today to progress through to the Qtr finals.

Amazing stuff for a 52yo player, brought back the ’80s to me :)

I used to hate watching Davis winning everything in the 80s but have to admit
I have enjoyed his run in the comp this year and wish him well
Saying that it was hard to stay awake during his game with John Higgins very slow and boaring
Hard to beat the days of Jimmy White and Alex Higgins you always got a decent show at a fast pace

Can anybody tell me how this is a sport.

On the golf front I define golf as full contact sport
at least when I play…I beat the crap out of a little white ball

Sport is an activity that can be done in a cpmpetetive way and that makes you tired. Also while doing it you are not taking alcohol. A bit like sex I guess

Aha! There’s someone else who wonders about this one. I see real sport as having a purpose, either present or past. For example javelin throwing strives to excel the human endeavour…and helps to spear that wild animal a bit further away. Running from A-B as fast as you can to excel the human endeavour…or if you miss with your javelin.
Now tennis…that’s the one that really gets me…the scoring isn’t even logical.
Delighted to see Davis doing well though. He’s a comical character too which is a side you didn’t see back 30 years ago.

I was going to say, any activity where performance can be enhanced by the use of drugs-
    but now I’m confused-

Bring back the good old days of snooker-
whoever drank the most pints, and smoked the most fags,
and could still see the end of their cue was the real winner.

Commentators who marveled at the way Beta Blockers could improve somebody’s game,
telling us that if the competitor didn’t take them, he’d shake himself to death.

    Now that was sport…
