Stop, my wallet cannot take it :)

Great news it’s repairable though – might I ask who you’ve engaged to repair it ?

His name is Declan. I think the operation is called Dublin Camera Repair and he is on Sundrive Road (I think I said SCR). I can supply you (or anyone else) with his number if needed. I thought he did a good job and it was reasonably priced.

Ah.. know the chap. Have used Declan previously on a few occasions, and must say would recommend him highly both for quality of work and price,

Was just curious really. The Hexar is something that’s intrigued me for a while, and like all out of production film cameras, you can hear horror stories on the web about unrepairable cameras due to unavailable parts.. I think it’s to be my bane it seems, I’ve highly fancied the Hexar and likewise the Mamiya 6, but something in me just finds it hard to plunk down a chunk of money, when I know there’s a real risk it might be unrepairable at some point in the future due to lack of parts.

I know a camera’s not supposed to last forever, and maybe its a backlash to digital and the continuous churning, but I seem have a burgeoning weakness for decades old mechanical cameras that could possibly outlast me..

I’ll put up an ad about this shortly but thought I would try this first. Is anyone here interested in buying my Hexar AF? It’s the black version … comes with boxes etc. Works fine. Only problem is that while I do have a flash unit for it, it doesn’t work. Bought it for 350 Sterling (as detailed on this thread). Get in touch by PM if you want to make me an offer …..
