Aoife pic’s for critique

Hi all

first time putting up pictures on this section.
looking to get peoples thoughts good or bad.
it was a very basic set up,I used a sb800 of camera with
soft box and a black sheet covering window behind in sitting room.

look forward to seeing what people think.

I think the first is nice but would maybe crop in closer, I would try a head and shoulders
crop? the second shot is not as good I think it is just the pose looks a little awkward, I
love the candid feel to it.

1 and 2, I’d leave more space between Aoife and the backdrop, so the creases will blur.

I agree with head and shoulders only, and I think the pose in 2 is more successful.
Lovely eyes.

I’m only an amateur, so you can take my comments with a pinch of salt if you like. Lovely portraits. For me the first one is best, but as suggested above, with a tighter crop – head and shoulders. I prefer the pose in No. 1. I think some reflected light to the left side of the face in no. 2 would improve the overall image by reducing the shadow of the nose, and bringing out detail of the left eye some more.
