    Very nice shot Phil. Just the right amount of depth of field and the conversion is
    great…! Processing is spot on too. His expression is superb and yes I’d say he is
    some character.

    I adore this – he’s a superb subject, with personality just oozing out of him.. so that itself makes the image engaging – You’ve done a great job taking it , the eyes are great.. like magnets and the conversion works perfectly ..

    About the crop – I’d lean towards what JB said .. something wider rather than closer

    But a cracking shot overall.. !
