enjoyed looking at these Joe – they could almost be back in the 50’s or 60’s.

No. 2 is a wonderful image, a documentary masterpiece in itself! Very well done!

Yes they look great, looks a lot more than twenty years ago-
The portrait of the guy with the key on his belt is wonderful-
    and PJ Syron too-

    A very good set altogether-

    Were these colour negs?

    Thanks for your comments

    ib7 – these are all 35mm ilford xp1 400 b/w negs

Let me know if the third one is back ok, I was doing some slight adjustments on it, so the link changed.

No2 was cropped at the bottom because of a head sticking up that didn’t suit the composition.

I my self like no1 because of the way the two old bookies are just standing there waiting for someone to put a bet on and the other bookies are doing something and then there’s the boy looking at the tote, it sums it up in a way the two old boys are of a different generation.

I also like the pose of no3 and no4.

    cheers Joe

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I’m very enthusiastic abouts these shots! I agree with NFL’s request to post more.

Love the second particularly, a masterpiece, as Gizzo said.

    Great work.

    Love the expressions in #2.
Looks like they just had a faller and I’d say the guy in the pin stripped suit could have had at least £10 on it…
I love these old type of shots, hopefully todays images will have half the impact of these in 20 years time.

    Brilliant!!!

I love number 2 also. Would be even better if that guy on the right had also covered his face to make the set.

Great stuff all around. Look forward to seeing more.

Terrific stuff. I too think no 1 is special.
