Atocha train station

I wasn’t sure about this picture for a couple of reasons (over saturated, trolley blocking the figure centre-right, no eye contact) but I think it gets across the scale and beauty of the place:

I like this shot. It reminds me of various train journeys in Europe in ‘my youth’. I’ve no problem with no eye contact, it agrees with the feeling of hanging around in a train station, where one would naturally avoid making eye contact. It is a little oversaturated, but on the other hand colours of the large plants look very well and it is as you say a beautiful building. The only thing I don’t like is the Burgerking sign, its a blemish on such fine surrounds (sorry for being a food snob!!!).

    Where is Atocha?

Thanks Liam, I went back to the train station three times to get the exposure right. It was hard not to blow out the glass in the ceiling without having the main area below too dark. This is one of the times where the sun helped light up the centre of the area. The saturation is weak off centre, but I was kinda lucky to naturally have the centre of the image both brightened and saturated, although skin tones are indeed a touch too orange!

This is one of the two main stations in Madrid.

And what’s wrong with the odd Burger King! Actually, Spanish cuisine in the places I visited where second to none. I was bowled over by the quality of the food there – and I would not have previously associated Spain with fine cuisine.
