Hi Everyone this is my first post to the site. I looked out my window yesterday morning and saw some beautiful colours through my curtains and when I looked out I just had to grab my camera and see if I could try capture some of the magic. All C&C most welcome.

Not a bad attempt, the sky is fine but theres a bit too much black in the trees and they seem a bit flat, next time try gettin up to some high ground and have a go at getting a landscape with a bit of morning mist. No shortage of high ground in Wicklow at least :)

Hi Terry .. welcome to the forum :) I hope you enjoy it

We have had some fantastic skies this week and fair play to you for having actually getting your camera and having a go …   I feel so guilty for staying in bed watching them :)

I love the sky and silhouetted foregound in this shot ..but I think it might benefit a little if you crop about half of the foreground out of the image .. you will also benefit from removing the 50/50 composition and change it to 1/3 which can (doesn’t always) improve the shot..

    Well done.

Hi Everyone, thank you all very much for your comments and advice. I guess this is not the best dawn shot I have ever taken but at least you all got what I was trying to capture and that was the actual colours in the sky. Looking at it again I realise I was probably a little hasty posting this one as there are many faults with the shot. Lorraine you are so right, I have no idea how I managed to drag myself out of my bed grab my camera and run to get a shot or two. Hopefully I’ll do better next time. Not quite a whizz on the old photoshop yet either.
