Rob. The true mayfly is Ephemera danica and comes out in May (ish), but there’s a whole family of ephemerids and their relations, they hatch out at all sorts of times. This boy has only two tails so he is not an official mayfly, but a cousin.

These are the sort of things a trout fisherman gets to know!
