Upstate New York. I was a little late for the autumn colours. Still, I like this shot. This was before Sandy got every single leaf there was left.

It’s a nice shot but i’m wondering if you took any of the truck in the background.

Sorry John, none of the truck on it’s own. Couldn’t get close enough. There were warning signs all over the place about trespassing so i didn’t dare set foot inside the gate. Guys around these parts carry guns!

Fair enough Fergus, you’ld never know who you’ld run in to. I just found the truck very interesting!

i have to say i really like it ,perfectly exposed and lovely colours for late autumn… i was kind of undecided about the foreground tree originally ..but it (pardon the pun ) grew on me :-)…..particularly when i noticed the lovely light shining at the top of it

really like the colors of the trees in the background too, i can see why they refer to ‘leafers’ in family guy…

Thanks for all the kind comments. I was about 2 weeks late for the full autumn colours. Many of the trees are already bare at this altitude (it’s a little way up a mountain). I would have liked to go into the field to take more shots because from another viewpoint I could see several old rusted cars behind the shed. But when someone posts 6 “no trespassing” signs in this neck of the woods I take notice.

I have a thing or old wooden Barns and especially a 1956 Chevy pick up…… The tree is distracting would have been great if you could have gotten a clearer angle.

See you were there during fall……. Did you take many of the leaves turning?

Have been contemplating doing a project on old barns, pass millions of them on the way to work….need to get my ass in gear.
