It’s been months since i got out early with the intention of taking some landscape images.
So this morning i was determined to get up early and brush off the cobwebs. Still not early enough (5.30 and the sun was already rising above the horizon) . There was a nice mist rolling through the valleys between blessington and kippure, and wanted to try and catch some of the rays of the sun as it lit up the hills and valleys and the trees between.
Two nice shots Jason. I like the tones you used on these. The second would be my pick of the tweo, just that the road adds more interest and provides a great lead in.
Used a shady white balance which enhanced the colours that were already there. Other than that brought the blacks up a tweak and recovered some of the highlights.
I like the first myself but jumping between the two now – the criss crossing layers of the receding hills and mountains in the first is what interested me, and the light rays in the trees but the mist in both was great.
Hi Jason. I love the two of these. They remind me of the last time I slept out on the hills, only to awake to a beautiful morning. I prefer #2 as I can almost feel like “being there” again and how good I felt. Well captured. Well done.
