    nice shot Bren I like it, I guess some will say its better without the person but I like it and think it works. How did you light the perons face or was the light from the sky bound torch enough to suffice ?

    It was light from his torch that illuminated his face also :)

    lovely shot although I would prob be one of those with lower preference for the person… how come he’s so slanty? doesnt seem natural… maybe if he was a little less close to the edge of the frame?

    just nit picking really, its really well done. you must’ve had a torch yourself to light the base of that timber did you?

    Really like this, It’s my aim this year to take more shots at night, something like this would be great. It’s the detail in the sky that makes this shot.

    Would you my sharing your technique and settings.

    Hi Dave, Setting are: iso 1600 FL 16mm Ap: 2.8 Exp: 33 seconds. Side of the boat light painted with my handheld torch during the exposure.
