A great find & good catch. The flash lighting seems a bit bright to me (but I’ve just woke up) Well done

Excellent, well worth the waiting I would say, agree with miki the flash looks
a little bright, but better to get the shot than not.

Congratulations Mick! I know how hard it is. Have to agree with the others about the flash. What set up did you use?

Just used Sb-800 flash on camera, took the advice on getting the shot. Think it’s the post processing is the problem as there is plenty in the Raw file to work with. I just got so excited I had to post it asap.

Its taken me a while to get the flash right and I still haven’t really mastered it. At the moment I’ve settled on one flash to one side and slightly higher than the camera and another on the other side lower than the camera. It can be hard to control shadows. But even one frontal flash can give great results once its off camera. If you want to include more of the animals environment then you have the problem of flash fall off and dark backgrounds.
