Ballon Poppy Field.

Travelling home from Carlow a few weeks back I was stunned to see a red field just outside Ballon.
A quick uturn found me standing on a small stepladder waiting for the clouds to part.
This was the best I could do.
I passed a few days later and they were gone.John.

adrianmatthewsParticipantHi John,
REALLY nice image, vibrant colours in the field and Sky are fantastic, great capture.

SeaviewParticipantYes, a very nice summer image. The colours really make this image, well done for spotting the field. Handy having a step ladder in the car too.

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for your much appreciated comments.
I am using a van at the moment so having a ladder on board is a little easier than when using a car. :)
It does come in very handy when a little height gives a better viewpoint. All the best,
John.

jodal1975Participanthaven’t used this site in ages…..but its nice to come back to it and see images of this quality …a really lovely shot john . the colours are great , so vibrant ! did you use a polariser ? the sky really packs a punch.
5faytheParticipantHi jodal1975,
Welcome back to PI and many thanks for you lovely comments.
Most encouraging.I didn’t use a polariser as I don’t have one to fit my 10-22.
I do however use PSE8 to help me reproduce, as best I can, what I remember seeing. All the best,
John.
sndipoMemberThat is a cracking shot. The colours are spot on and the composition perfect. I’d be thinking if there were no clouds at all, it wouldn’t be as good :)
