!!!! it was suppose to be… thats why square crop :P
Well thats me shut up then…..
Alan RossiterParticipantYou’d want to watch these landscape photographers Martin…they think in thirds
Another goodie, diferent in the fact that there’s more detail than the milky sea that’s characteristic of the type of photography you present but certainly effective. Care to issue the camera details, shutter speed, etc?
Alan.
mcmartinParticipantI THINK , the time was something around 1300 —- iso 100, 135sec f/22 10mm, 10stop b&w ND filter, + mounted on top of that 3stop cokin ND grad grey soft edge filter – HA, that’s setup :p Children don’t try this at home
besides, Cathal, there is nothing there on the beach really to compose the shot as if wanted to stick to Mighty Rule of Thirds…I like to brake the rules… I’ve been taking photographs since April, so I’m in advanced stage of BEGINING… that was my first plan, when i first saw the rocks, that the bigger one would be in the center…
Alan, hope that setup isn’t to twisted….
cathaldParticipantMartin you are knocking out some high quality images for someone who has been at it since april
Care to share your p/p on these kind of shots
Cathal

Makes perfect sense. I wouldn’t have thought of the grad as well though!
Cheers,
Alan.
constantineParticipantReally love this Martin.
You really have some top notch work on your flickr site, and the picture above is a wall hanger if ever there was one.
The square crop suits it down to the ground.
b318ispParticipantVery eye catching – interesting choice of filters to get the effect too.
gavinParticipantStunning stuff…only thing I’d remove is the headland in the rear, it kind of breaks the zen like feel. Is it Digital?
mcmartinParticipantGavin, yes this is digital… and the headland you are referring to is The Rathlin Island, you can’t just remove it… its difficult to compose the shot without it in the background… it would have to very misty day… but I like it anyway

Its a great shot, really like the tone as well
aoluainParticipantReally love this and the others from the same “THEME”.
The boulder in the centre is good it is forcing you to focus on it
and is very dominating.Love the minimal feel to this and the others and the tone is nice too.
Lovely,
Alan
