thanks for looking C&C welcome
phillipSeaviewParticipantNice set Philip, number 2 would be my favourite but they’re all nice. Is number 1 a hdr, the colours look a bit strange. :?
Dave.
PixelleMemberAs you caught the reflection of the bridge, it might have been nice to include the swan’s reflection too. And yes the bridge does look to have a touch of HDR.
BrianParticipantI would agree with the previous posts. Nice shots, although slightly heavy in the HDR department maybe.
phillipMemberthanks for the c&c, all shots where done in hdr, i dont think it is over cooked it, i always try to keep it in the middle, colours look fine to me, late even shot with the setting sun,
phillipphotospecMemberGreat job!
HDR is a love it or hate it technique/process. Personally I love it and I feel you have been subtle in its use and have used it to really enhance the image. Well done in my view.
TompixBandonMemberPhillip,
I prefer the two of the bridge also. I think #1 works better. This is because my personal view is that the absence of a dark area in #2 (due to HDR) is slightly confusing because with such strong light coming for the other side, my eye expects something on the camera side to be dark!

phillipLook at them again in a couple of weeks Philip. They’re a bit un-natural. They look great as graphic images, but a bit OTT as photographs.
Alex.thalpinMemberI’d also echo the suggestions regarding dark/light elements (and how HDR contributes to the issue). The eye expects certain things to exist if something else is in the picture, and HDR can often remove that, and hence make it seem ‘not quite right’ in terms of a photograph.
THe only other thing I would add is that for me, the aspect ratio is perhaps a little square/low – slightly wider aspects may work better for these.
