sinhobMemberKyeBrownParticipantThanks a lot Sinead, was starting to doubt if it appealed to anyone it had gone that long without a comment!
Thanks Again!
sinhobMemberI think there’s so much going on here that it just takes a while sometimes! Because I’m being super interested in macro style photography at the moment, I’m searching out all I can so I was thrilled to come across yours as it’s exactly the sort of image I’m interested in taking myself. The small but intricate details in the seemingly everyday mundane are what fascinate me!
Can’t wait to find some more images like yours… :)
Sinead
esthermolineParticipantGreat focus and a very interesting subject for a macro. The black and white is good as it emphasizes the lines and shapes but I wonder what the colour version would have been like, there were probably some nice rusty colours there!
sinhobMemberI know what you mean Esther, and the colour image would be good to see, but in all honesty I think in this situation the B&W is just perfect. In my view, it adds an element of wonder to the image – which for me is what photography is all about. Obviously other photographers will feel differently about this, but that’s just my feeling… I really love the photo and it’s made me determined to get a macro lens for myself (must save harder!) so I can try to capture similar images.
Sinead :)
KyeBrownParticipantTo satisfy your curiousity guys, and because I’m so grateful for you comments here is a colour version;
Let me know what you think;
Kye
sinhobMemberYep, it works too… The contrasting colours are lovely and add real softness to the rather sharp subject! The mossy base with its few jagged bits of rust is also interesting as is the tiny winding flower(?) in the upper right of the picture.
A really great photo, Kye – thanks so much for showing both.
Sinead :)
esthermolineParticipantThat looks great too! As Sinead says it gives the subject softness. The colours blend in really well with the background and it’s a beautiful palette of soft greens and browns. Great photo in both versions, but I think I go for the colour one more myself. Thanks a lot for adding it! :D
