Barley Field • Co Armagh ( New Pic added)
-
Gary McParlandParticipant
Spotted this field on the way home today and went back at sunset.
Missed some very nice light by a minute or so but was treated to a double rainbow which was of course in the wrong direction. I have some pics of it which ill post later. Thanks for looking :)

Did manage a few with some good light at the end. Processing might be too much for some but i like it myself.
Would like to know if you think this is too dark as it looks ok on my home computer but always looks darker in work.
Thanks :)
miki gParticipantHi Gary.
A nice lead in, lighting & composition. I’m not sure if the sky works in this though even though it looks fairly dramatic. The two rapeseed (Ithink) flowers on the right are distracting to me, but could be easily cloned out. It is a nice shot overall though.NosParticipantDougLParticipantI love the composition, and the sense of motion in the grain. The sky doesn’t work for me. It don’t know that it’s overcooked so much as too dark.
Was this taken recently? I didn’t think the barley fields were that high yet, at least they aren’t around where I live.

BrianParticipantI really like it. Composition is great and I actually like the sky. Lovely… ah.. atmosphere to it, I suppose
phillipMemberGary McParlandParticipantThanks for the comments guys.:) I have to say the sky does look darker on my work computer. Might try and lighten it a bit and see.

GaryKlarensParticipantSuperb Garry! ;)
Leave as is
The sky is dramatic and I like this
I have a calibrated monitor , looks good!5faytheParticipantHi Gary,
I like this photograph.
I find the composition very good.
I like the track in the barley leading towards the tree and
then the track around the tree pointing us on towards the sky.I like the sky too.
I have found on certain occasions that my images can have a patch
of colour like this in one side of the sky and I’m not sure that it
dosen’t drag the eye a little too much?Anyway it’s a lovely picture.
John.
Gary McParlandParticipantMadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantGreat set of images – dreamlike with a surreal touch. The green looks so tasty – I wished i could eat colours. I do adore the skylines in the first image although i cant undestand how the right pink goes with the white left part. The power of the first image…(and thats why i think it is the strongest one of both)… it literally SHOWS the dynamic of wind in a very beautiful way. Congrats. the sky was with you… mh the pink
( I actually wanted to place a smiley but i jsut realized that the smileys changed and they all look like zombies). So here is the old schoolmhhh the pink… (-ó
