    hi, first time on this forum.
    Would appreciate some feedback on the picture attached.

    Just a few comments for you –

    Shots have more impact when you have the face of the player with the ball.
    Flash shouldn’t be used (very distracting to players).
    You could crop the photo tighter, just down to the player and the basket.
    You could get away with a higher shutter speed, and higher ISO (1600).

    Nice image that you caught him in mid-air though.

    I took Basketball photos in New Zealand and all the media use flash for Basketball

    I never liked flash myself

    I know in the USA they use studio flash

    Its hard to take photos under low light if you don’t have a fast lens, or if the light is poor….not allot you can do….

    completely new to this whole area myself too but i found that i had to use flash for basketball. nikon kit lens will just not cut it. begining to realise that a smaller aperture is essential
