Sorry. I can’t go for the vignette or the over-bright sea.
You have ever felt to speak of Lomography or Holga??? de gustibus….
jb7ParticipantTaste?
That’s a risky one- This came up at least once before-

I don’t understand
PeteTheBlokeMemberWe’ve been through the Holga/lo-fi pictures debate before. PaddyJoe
posted a “Holga-like” shot and came in for a fair bit opprobrium from
the Holga purists. There’s now a lo-fi section of the site (to keep them away
from the real pictures, some might say).ilredelsilenzioParticipantTo discuss of tastes is a thing, but to discuss of what photo is it is another discourse.
Who sustains that Holga doesn’t make photo he mistakes, that cannot like then….
I care to specify, even if my image is an artificial and I accepts the due criticisms.PeteTheBlokeMemberilredelsilenzio wrote:

Which brings us back to my comment: I think the vignette and the
over-exposed look to the sea don’t improve your photo.ilredelsilenzioParticipantPeteTheBloke wrote:

here http://forum.tevac.com/index.php?showtopic=56716 likesjb7ParticipantI had a look at the site you linked to-
nice avatar- a striking resemblance to PaddyJoe’s avatar in the thread I linked to-
I don’t suppose you’re his Italian cousin? You keep mentioning de gustibus-
“de gustibus non dispitandum est…”Well, translated from the latin,
that means something like ‘Personal preferences are not debatable’-
which is a little bit dry and literal-And its also anathema to anybody posting here for c&c-
What is the point of posting pictures for comment,
if you’re only going to accept the backslapping ones?
If you have reasons why comments aren’t valid, then you should state them-
using the comments of others, on another forum, to try to disprove the validity of comments received here
is just a little bit lazy-An altogether more apt interpretation of your latin phrase might read-
“There is no accounting for taste’,
which I would happily agree with-
especially in relation to the site you linked to-The ‘Lomography’ style you mention-
Its more than just a vignette;
I don’t think its been very successful here-
and I’d have to agree with Pete’s earlier comments-And as a picture, I don’t really find it interesting-
what is more interesting is the lengths you’re going to to defend it-j
Not Pete the blokeParticipantVery entertaining thread, more down to the words than the pictures, and made even more interesting with a nostalgic reminder of Olga the Holga…….
ilredelsilenzioParticipantTo labors, but have understood!
At times I don’t make sense of me because certain photos like to someone and to others they like other photos.
My job is surely away from the Lomo, but I thought it was pleasant as resulted. I don’t discuss your tastes, but to close the doors to the cartoons is too much from purists, space to the ideas. I prefer to know that you don’t like the photo because it is ugly, but not because it is too opposed and vignette. Sorry for my englishPeteTheBlokeMember
