    I like the way you went about taking the shot, but the glare of the sun on the wet sand is very distracting.
    If you dont mind me asking did you take the picture facing the sun.

    I like the subject, but the blown out glare is just too intrusive.

    That’s the problem with photography in Ireland – the sun just never gives us any respite!

    ravenash, yeeees i took the picture facing the sun… cse i like that kind of pictures but don t ask me why…

    This doesn’t light my fire Urzula…but it is the type of shot that interests me, i.e., shooting into the sun. I think looking at that shot that it would have benefitted from metering on the sun reflection. If you have centre or spot metering, meter on this hot spot and this should go some way towards lowering the glare and put the contours of the sand ripples and shells into silhouette. I can’t give you an example coz I haven’t done it yet (lack of sun, etc). It may turn out quite nice!! Give it a go.

    The glare is a bit severe alright, try bringing a large refuse bag with you next time.Lay it on the sand and lie on your belly to get some different viewpoints.This might reduce the blow out on the sand and give you some interesting shots too :wink:
