    Hi Guys,

Looking to get a Bean Bag.
What do you think of these on this site

    http://www.thepod.ca

Thinking of getting the Green one for a Canon EOS400 with a 70-300 lens?

Does anyone have one of these and you thoughts?

I have one. Got it as a gift. To be honest, I’ve never used it.

I’d actually just prefer a small beanbag to do the job.

I’m not sure it would support your camera with that lens. It would more be for a smaller lens.

    Just my view.

    Hi Paul,

Just wondering which one you got, as in what colour one or size, as there are 6 different ones?
Also could you recommend what other type of bean bag, not sure what to get for a safari?

    Hey OJ..

I bought the red one on a whim…

Frankly..I think I’ve used it once or twice…not one of my wiser buys. It doesn’t support the camera…I don’t think it’s even meant to…

But I don’t find it very flexible…as Paul said…You’d be better off buying a regular bean bag, if you need something like this.

    Cheers

It’s funny, that’s one piece of kit I wouldn’t buy, preferring instead to make my own. Some fabric, a zipper or some velcro, a sewing machine and hey presto, you’re very own custom made bean bag

A little side business there Thorsten? Photography bean bags for people upon request??

The one I have is red. I wouldn’t trust my P&S on it, never mind an SLR.

LOL – Any supermarket will have suitable filling material – those dried Marrowfat peas, or from the health food section you could use lentils, or other beans. Rice would be another option.

Bring a stove with you on your outings and you could have a handy snack in no time at all.
