Beauty From The Eye Of The Little Holga

Wish I had come up with that title myself, but I didn’t, saw it on flickr and thought it was cool.
First colour film thought the Holga, think I like it better than b&w, which surpsises me.
Grass seed. (i think)
July Grass
Ulster Way Path
Jess and the Tree
Sinead.
lousyParticipantJess gets in everywhere
I don’t really get these ‘lo fi’ so I can’t offer
any critique.
I’m lookin’ all the same. :?
Patjb7ParticipantjessthespringerParticipantPat, Jess does indeed get in everywhere! No surprise, she comes with me almost everywhere! I guess lo fi doesn’t tilt all kilts, but cheers for looking.
j, thanks, and yes it is a 35mm Holga. I’ve recently bought a Diana and am really looking forward to shooting some 120 film.
DenverDollParticipantYeah that title is brilliant…first thing that popped into my head was that it was a great title for the lo-fi thread. That way we ignore all other lo-fi cameras and don’t run the risk of inadvertently omitting just one or two. we could just parenthesize something like (and all other lo-fi ) and I think it sounds very interesting! I am pretty sure that is not going to happen though, so moving on, I think these are lovely Sinead.
My fave is the last. Looking forward to lots of Diana shots too.
I don’t mean this in a derogatory or mean spirited way, and I am not trying to pick a fight, but for anyone (not just Pat) who doesn’t get them…..what is it you don’t get? I am not sure what that means?
Shar
thefizzParticipantEddieParticipantjessthespringerParticipantThanks everyone for the comments, I appreciate the feedback. I did some shooting from the hip today… and a bit out the car window too. I felt a bit naughty… Which was nice!!
Sinead.
nfl-fanParticipant#3 and #4 for me… I was out and about this evening and I see a bloke with a small B+W Springer Spaniel playing on the beach and your pup came to mind. I took a few snaps… but they were quite far away.
I have one of these devices… and some rolls of Neopan 400… but I’m too shÃtty to give it a try… plus all the hardships associated with developing film… which I know zero about other than “Chemist – Hand In – Get Back – Crap Shots (For me that is)”. I must summon the testicular fortitude to gives this a go sometime.
RobMemberjessthespringerParticipantCheers lads… John you should just give it a go… have a look in some of the Holga groups on Flickr, some really cool stuff. I know it’s poo when you shoot film and it doesn’t work out, but the learning curve is quick and it’s good fun
Rob, I was thinking of you today, when I was driving down the road at 60 with the Holga out the window!! He he! Cheers, I like the first too, I’ve seen people use pictures like this as a background/overlay/layer on top of another picture, might be cool to try it sometime.
Cheers again,

Horses for courses I guess: if you prize sharpness in your images and don’t like vignetting etc., then it’s not going to float your boat. My wife (who’s not at all interested in photography beyonf family snaps) doesn’t like architectural or landscape shots that don’t have someone standing in them which, with some exceptions, wrecks my head! Like I said, she wants standard snapshots …
Personally, I LOVE the dream-like, atmospheric quality of a good low-fi shot
