Bee in a hole in my shed

found this bee nestling in a tiny hole in the wood in the side of my shed. the hole was only about twice the depth of the bee, so useless for a nest. why was he/she hiding in this little hole?

    Could have been born there?

    Nice photo anyway.

Could be a leaf cutter bee, they cut a perfect semi circle from a leaf…roll it up like a sleeping bag and place it in a hole in a wall or timber . An egg is layed in the parcel and sealed up and later on out comes the offspring :D

Could be simply sheltering from the rain. :)
