Hi all nice site lot of info, I,m new to all this photography but i,m starting to in joy it. Got a canon 550D for birthday from son and his g/f.
They might be trying to tell me something :D
I,m trying to upload a few photos but it wont let me, its telling me file is to big. What can I do and how .5faytheParticipantHi Brendan,
Welcome to Photography Ireland and I hope you find the site entertaining and
maybe even educational.Normally members upload their photographs to a hosting site like Flickr and then
embed in their posts from there.
Images need to be resized so they fit on the page.
Until recently the maximum width the site could handle was 800 pixels.
Mark has made some changes and now larger image sizes can be handled. You can find some information here: faq.html
You are very lucky to get such a nice present and they obviously know their cameras as
the 550D is a fine camera.Don’t want to be too critical of your first picture post but it would be remiss of me not
to comment at all.
The exposure and composition are very good and you have thrown the background
out of focus to keep our attention on the subjects.
The colour is nice.
If you had the subjects looking into the lens or even at each other and the brides
eyes open you would have a very fine photograph.Good luck with your new camera and if you have any questions just ask.
Cheers.
John.
connieParticipantWelcome to the forum and what a really nice camera! looking forward to seeing your pics.
I have to agree with John that it would be better if the bride had her eyes open but the focus looks good and you are drawn into the 2 people in the picture rather than the backround.MarkKeymasterHi Brenner,
There should be no restrictions on embedding photos on the site, they were removed a few days ago.
I’ve removed the attachment as we prefer them to be hosted elsewhere and them embedded on PI.There may be restictions on attaching photos to your posts though, which might be what you saw.
Thanks
