Beginner need advice!

can anyone tell me if it would be worth going to uni for 4yrs and getting a degree in photography even tho im in the middle of a 2 yr college course doing photography, image processing, disign tech etc? I am 27yrs old and want to start making money, but if the degree would be worth doing then i would do that. ps. does anyone know where the best place in ireland is to study photography? Thanks to anyone that can help.
If you plan to work for yourself a degree is a total waste of time and money.. if you want to work for a company in some way within the areas u mention then you might need the degree to get an interview . I would have strong thoughts about doing another two years especially since work for companies in this area at this time would be limited I would imagine
A quality portfolio of photos will do more for you than having a degree.
It really depends on what you want to do in the end. People will more likely ask to see your portfolio than to see your degree qualifications.
