Belfast Fashion Week – hot on the high street (lotsa pix)
-
elludeParticipant
Yesterday evening went along to one of the nightly fashion shows running all this week as part of Belfast Fashion Week 07. I think the theme for this one was called ‘Hot on the High Street’.
Here’s some pics….
All were shot as jpgs and afraid I haven’t had time to do much other than resize them, but hopefully enough to give an idea of the night…
SwordieMemberWell done Ellude. You nailed the exposure and got some cracking shots.
Not so sure about some of the clothes, but then fashion shows have to make you think and talk!paperdollParticipantVery nice collection of shots, I am a bit of a fashion fan like most girls, so these really appeal to me… :D
RobMemberTerrific runway set. Great exposures all round, and a great
flow to the series. Plenty of movement. I like.Rob.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantGreat stuff Cliff. I for got about this yet again, but I see it is on again for another couple of nights. Are you attending again yourself?
elludeParticipantThanks for the comments… :)
Brandyman – Sorry didn’t get a chance to reply earlier. I’m working until about 7.30pm most evenings this week so was able to call at the fashion show on the way home (well, I was late and missed the start but still plenty of time to get some pics). Doubt if I’ll make it back tomorrow evening but think they are running this in Castlecourt on Friday afternoon. If I finish early might call in there. It has a glass roof so perhaps a daylight show?
RodcunhaParticipantVery nice work. really well balanced and perfectly exposed! Fantastic work!
All the best,
Rod
AliParticipantAbsolutely cracking Cliff – the full length shots are out of this world. Dublin Fashion week was on the week before, you didn’t by any chance manage to make it?
P.S – Shot 18 – did you record the name of the designer by any chance. ?elludeParticipantThanks Ali! You mean the dress that looks a little like the gear Irish dancers wear? Afraid I’m not sure about the designer. There were hand-outs available at the show that might have given more details, but the only thing I have is small leaflet giving a general outline of what is being featured on various nights. The description for the evening these pics were taken is as follows:
“DESIGNER BOUTIQUES: See the lastest designer collections from some of Northern Ireland’s chichest independent boutiques including CARTER, POSH FROCKS, HARPER , OC, LIBERTY BLUE and TABAGO. New designers Orla Havlin, Catherine B, Jude Bags and Zoe Boomer will also feature.”
Does that help?
This was a great venue – part of the Opera House that has been turned into a bar for people to come out for a drink during intervals in the performances running there. The fashion show itself was absolutely packed. I arrived late which made it difficult to find a good place to stand to take pictures – I was constantly being jostled from all sides by a large crowd of females milling around the place :) But all good fun!
Afraid I didn’t make it to the Dublin show.
BTW, I’ve posted some additional shots over at imapp – think I might have already exceeded the picture limits here :)

You can rule out Orla Havlin as being the dress designer – she is a cousin of my wife, and she is a silver jewellery designer. Her trademark is ‘OH’ which you can see imprinted on the knickers of the last model.
