Yeats asked to be buried ‘under bare Ben Bulben’s head’. This was taken from his graveside.

i can see what you were trying to do, with framing the shot with the trees, i would have tried to lose the foreground trees or get to higher ground.

Thanks for your comments, Phillip. I see what you’re getting at and normally I’d agree that a ‘cleaner’ shot would be better. However, in this case, the point was to take the shot from his grave and this was the only ‘window’ out of the graveyard! Agree about the smaller trees cluttering the shot a bit.

I see what you trying to do, and I’d say probably the best you could do in the circumstances, unless perhaps there was a way to incorporate the headstone into the shot.

Nice place Fergus. You seem to have the bottom portion of the shot in shadow. if you tried to
lighten it by increasing the levels with an adjustment layer, then create a layer mask ctr i to invert the layer and paint white into
The shadow area about 30% opacity it might help……John!

Liam: Thanks, I’ll try a lower pov next time I’m there.

John: Thanks also, that makes a big difference. I’ll give your suggestions a go on the original and see how it turns out.
