Never have 2711 concrete blocks been more thought provoking. The Holocaust memorial in the heart of Berlin offers endless opportunities for photos and changes constantly throughout the day as the sun moves the shadows.
interesting, its the third post on this location on the travel section in recent months. image works well, I guess it reflects the sense of disorientation that the memorial was intended to create. Would perhaps be nice to see a image that is wider in scope, this one I think just portrays a small area of the memorial.
I didn’t want any sky in the picture as i felt it would give some ‘relief’ to the somber mood the memorial creates, hence the closer crop. I must track back and see some of the other posts you mentioned to see how its been captured there.
check out Alan Cotter’s in the documentary section, can’t remember if the other pic was in Travel or elsewhere…..don’t mean to send you on a wild goose chase.
I’m not even going to ask about the user name, too much info.
If your still shy of somebody for squares no problem, put me down. The image I’m going to submit for the still life round is currently on the POTY round this month. “Potters Wheel”
