Best Travel Lenses

    Hi there,

What lenses would you, personally, consider to be the best travel lenses (if you were to go away tomorrow with the opportunity of taking some great photographs regardless of location, what would you bring?).

Curious to see what people suggest from experiences or recommendations.

    My Nikkor 18-135mm 3.5-5.6

Came with my camera and its just great. Great all round lens as it covers a wide range. Then I’d throw in my 50mm 1.8 just because its a handy little thing for the size of it.

Definitely my 18-200 I would say it is on my camera
for 80% of the time, it is small enough but with a bit
of reach, it is one I would definitely replace if anything
happened to it. (hope I havent put the mockers on it now)

    24-70, 85 1.8, 135 f2, 70-200, 300 f2.8…anything else I had too, if I was going specifically for photography.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM, Canon EF 300mm f/2.0 L IS USM, Canon EF 14mm f/2.8 L II USM and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM that would be perfect :)

Well If I was to bring only 1

    it would be . . . Canon EF 28-300 mm F3.5-F5.6 L IS USM

    2 lenses . . . My existing Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 N and a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM DO IS

    :)

If it is for city travel, I’d recommend a wider angle lens (e.g. 10mm+) – I see you have the 18-55 for this. For more landscape travel a moderate zoom may be better, but the wide end would still be handy, so pack the 70-200.
