Bidding on a Yashica TLR, how much is too much?

hi all
im bidding on a yashica 635 tlr 120 with 35mm converter on ebay. looks in good nic, beautiful looking camera. basically i want it, i want it bad. im in a bidding war and am currently outbid at 100 euro. i dont know what to do, is it too much, a good deal. help! please! :lol:

just as bad, then the sky is the limit. You have to decide what you are willing to pay and just stick to
it. I dont know much about them, but 100.00 seems near its limit?Good luck :)
reckon about 150 would be most I’d pay but be sure to look at shipping cost also. good luck with your war.
Interesting camera.. as Jenny noted re: bidding wars, that way often leads to insanity, at least with regard to pricing. Sounds like you are in the throes of gear lust, but there will always be another for sale :)
For what its worth, I wouldn’t pay more than the going rate for a Yashica 124/ 124G, as there are a dearth of TLR’s that can be had for up to €200. Re: the 35mm adapter, many of the Rollei models also have similar adaptors, if this is a must have feature
Damien, great lens producing great images but have a reputation for problems with the winding crank, caution advised.
thanks everyone, all quite on the western front for now. still two days left, im hoping that the other bidder has realized that they have been too trigger happy with the increase bid button (i gotta stop with the war analogies). we’ll see what happens.

Since their condition ratings are conservative (eg. most of their “bargain”rated ones would be in the “excellent+” category on ebay and many other shops, I go for their “bargain” ones as my price yardstick) But at the end it’s all subjective, as no camera is a silver bullet. I’ve had great results with cheap cameras and bad experiences with expensive ones and vice versa; believe me, I’ve used the majority of the film cameras out there at one stage or another :) In the end its just glass and metal (or plastic, wood…).

Good luck.well its done, i bought a Yashica-24 with f/3.5 80mm Yashinon lens from england for £64.47 p&p included. i am very happy anyway, i dont feel like i have been shafted or hoodwinked so i suppose thats something. will know the full story when it arrives. will post some pics when i figure out how to if anyone is interested. thanks again for all the advice.
