Yeah I let you know, I’ll probably go for cheaper CV 1.4/35mm, it’s lighter, shorter and faster (should be good for gigs and landscapes), Biogon is probably better build though.
Shipping is tricky, if sender declares the value you pay % of that, but there is a “gift” option, but then again if the parcel get lost you get nothing.
Got this Russian lens from a friend http://www.rugift.com/photocameras/lens-helios-44.htm just need adapter, should be good all-rounder for the beginning.
Not familiar with the Helios, but believe it’s a decent Zeiss Pre-WW2 design. If you have any issues with it’s performance, often hit and miss with Russian copies, a CLA usually brings them back to life. Re: adapters, ebay is a good, cheap source for these.
A biogon is a very wide design-
symmetrical too, so very straight-
I’ve never used one on 35mm, but they should cover an awful lot more than 24×36…
If I did have a 35mm Biogon,
I reckon I might end up mounting it on a Holga-
if I could figure out how to do it without making it permanent,
and if it looked like the coverage hadn’t been throttled…
Might be worth a search to see if it’s been done before-
Do they have a between the lens shutter?
Ok, sorry for intruding, just wondering aimlessly-
