A “Harris Hawk”, pictured at the Trim Hot Air Balloon Festival on the Easter weekend.
Great to get the eye contact, I was there myself and I though all the birds of prey were
fantastic, though I did think they were all a little spooked by the kites and balloons. The
Lanner falcon was my favourite, but all were beautiful!Thanks folks.
Yes – it was the eye contact that made the shot for me. I just got lucky. Seems like the hawk was curious enough to twist his head towards me at just the right moment.
yes indeed, very effective. the piercing stare of the hawk is mesmerizing, the composition and depth of field very effective. i like the way the blurred green vertical in the background helps hold the focus on the eyes. one wonders what was going through its head…
