So far I’m getting to grip with the various corvids, not to mention ducks and
swans and geese and wagtails, but I don’t know any of these. Educate me please.
    Comments and criticism also welcome…

    Rob.

    1.

    2.

    3.

The first one looks like a tree sparrow and the third one looks like a cormorant. I am not to sure about the second one, it looks like some type of wading bird.

Actually I think the second is an oyster catcher.

aye, first confirmed as stonechat. Cormant #2.

Yes, my mistake it is a stonechat. I was half right on the second one, as it is a wading bird.

#1 … break out the cloning tool and remove that pole. I think the Stonechat might just be a little too small in the frame. The eye is also hidden in shadow.
#2 … that needed some long glass.
#3 … Almost. For me, it’s cropped in the wrong direction. If it’s facing left then I think the empty space should be on the left.

Thanks for the IDs folks, and the comments.
All images were taken with my Olympus 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5

Aidan: I’m pretty rubbish with any kind of delicate work in Photoshop, but I’ll have
a go at cloning out that pole. The glass used is the best I’ve got… for now. And I see
what you mean about the empty space aspect of that third shot. Must think about these
    things more carefully…

    Rob.
