Black Head Lighthouse

Took this during the week last week
and meant to display it here . . .The weather that evening was blustery and
out here along the coast was very windy,
the sturdy tripod played its part well.
Reminds me of that episode of, Ted, the fuppin’ spot….
I like the colour, looks cold.Is this from the BB?

No it was taken on the 5D, 2 shots stitched.
Not familiar with that Fr. ted episode! must check it out.
Yes it was cold and the light was changing a lot, quickly.
It was taken within 2 hours of that rainbow pic I posted
last week and within 30 minutes of the version on my blog!thanks
Nicely composed, just a little unsure about the horizon cutting the lighthouse, but not much you could do about that. Foreground is especally interesting. Colour balance seems very blue – is that intentional?

Well I have processed it a little different to add some light
to the foreground and add a 10% warm up filter too . . .aoluain
Like the retouched version, I think the blue cast was losing some details in the foreground shadows.
Not sure I would have put that much sky in as the top half isn’t that interesting.Darragh

I think its still too blue. Would be better if you could change the colour of the foreground entirely and maybe have the light house a bit whiter, or do you say a bit more white.Attractive shot. I’m intrigued by the rocks in the foreground – they’re
well worth bringing more into the shot by chopping the top a bit in
my humble opinion. The blue colour is a bit unrealistic but it’s not
horrible.
