Black head, the Burren

    Hi everyone
I was traveling around the burren for the whole day with my good friend Shane Conneelly. It was a lovely day but the light was extremely hazy. Towards evening the light improved slightly so we decided to climb Black head, located near Fanore. We were told that there is an ancient stone fort at the top and that there are some of the oldest stone walls in Ireland forming separating boundaries on the fields of stone. As sunset approached the hazy light turned quite surreal. The limestone turned a golden hue as it was painted with a beautiful golden light.

    Hi Enda,

It’s not a bad shot, but I’m not sure it works. It looks like disappointing conditions for shooting with all that haze about. The orange light on the limestone is nice, but the general flatness that the haze imparts detracts a bit, for me anyway. Also, the reflection on the water is a bit confusing to the eye as it’s impossible to see the horizon through the haze. I thought it was flare at first glance.
