I think the first image needs to be straightened a little but it’s an image that would not appeal to me.
The second has a touch of HDR about it (I think) but I wonder if it would look better in black & white.

    Hi howyegettinon,

Welcome to the site and the best of luck with your photography.
It’s a great hobby and there’s always more to learn.

This scene looks like a lovely area with great potential for photography.
John mentioned straightening image #1 and it is important to watch out for horizontal and vertical lines.
It’s not always possible to keep everything straight in an image but it is important to be aware of everything
that you are including in the frame and how it will look.

The sky in #1 is a little uninteresting and in my opinion dosen’t add to the image.
You could have included less of the sky and as it is the bridge that you are showing us less sky
probably wouldn’t have diminished the final image.

The bridge area looks a little dark too.

While it is highly recommended to get as much as possible right at the time you press the shutter button
adjustments can be made in post processing software.
A rotate, crop and maybe levels adjustment to #1 could improve the image immensly.

#2 has a lot going for it with the lovely bridge, fluffy clouds and nice reflection.
While the colour looks nice on the bridge it dosen’t look quite as nice in the rest of the image.

All that said I think these are 2 good efforts for your first posts here and I hope to see many more.

    All the best,

    John.
