Bloody Bridge, County Down

SteveDParticipant
I took a 100 mile round trip today to Bloody Bridge at the base of the Mournes. It rained the whole way there and most of the way home, but on location things brightened up a little and the light was fantastic.
Feedback very welcome, particularly on the first one.

sean1098MemberLovely set Seve, i wish now that i went with you.
Three very strong pics, all with lovely light and movement.
The third for me here. i would have included a tad more foreground, but thats just me.
Great set again,
Sean.
MadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantabsolutly fantastic. is that a gd10 filter and did you use hdr options?
Not Pete the blokeParticipantAll very nice Steve – what time were you there at? Is that the 10 stop filter in use again?
mgstParticipantSteveDParticipantSean: Thanks, I’m glad you like them. It would have meant a 3am start for you, so I am not sure if it would have been worth it!
Madeleine: Thank you. I used the 10 stop ND filter on all 3 shots. There is no HDR here, just RAW conversions from Canon DPP followed by warming and saturation in Photoshop.
Ross: I met up with Gerald at 6:15 in Belfast, and we arrived there at 7:00. It was looking a bit grim on the way down, but it ended up ok. It was another 10 stop ND day!
Mqst: Thanks, days with mixed weather seem to produce the best light.
cathaldParticipantVery nice set Steve it was worth the round trip
The weather broke nicely for you that sky is stunning
I had a bit to much vino last night so I didn’t get up earlyCathal
SteveDParticipantCheers Cathal. I gave Sean a call but didn’t have your number – PM it to me if you get a chance.
ajParticipantBMParticipantI like all three, Steve.
As concerns teh first, the long exposure has provided a dramatic sky. However it has also caused the submerged rocks in the foreground to be very blurred – and I find them a bit of a distraction as a result.
The second has a great mist appearance with a touch of your usual post-processing. Perhaps the colours in teh the seams in the rocks are a bit powerful – “anchoring” the eye to the left – if that makes sense!
The dramatic sky in teh third makes it my favourite. The natural shading of the sun behind teh cloud has provided a great effect through the rest of teh sky.
All in all, well worth the effort.
LoGillParticipantI’ve come back to these a few times – all really lovely
I keep scrolling past the sky in the first one and just looking at the detail in the water – I love it – just gorgeous..
