Those are excellent pictures – would be interested in reading your technique if you get a chance to post it.
Brian_CParticipantrichie, lovely work. I was out at Newcastle the previous weekend, didn’t get there till about 7:20am (hit the snooze button) and so just missed the sun rise by about 4-5mins. It’s a lovely location. If you’re up here again I’d highly recommend heading up to tullymore forest park, it’s about 1 mile from Newcastle. I went up there after being on the beach. SteveDickey recommended it. I’m planning another trip over there this Sunday provided the forecast is clear. Do I sense a load of PI forumers heading to Newcastle this weekend…..
Once again richie, lovely lovely work.
terryMemberGosh Richie, these really are beautiful shots I can see I have quite a bit to learn. Fair play to you getting up and out so early I’ve done the early bird shots on holidays but not at home don’t think I’ve ever managed colours quite as spectacular as these. Well done and thanks for the inspiration.

RodcunhaParticipantRichie,
Both of them are superb shot’s, but i find the composition in the first one stronger… The light is just fantastic and the blending of the 2 exposures worked out just perfect!
davenewtParticipantFantastic, warm shots. Keep getting up early :-) I really should try it myself sometime :D
D.
v4hondaMemberI brought Stevie Hanna to this location one day and we didn’t get anything like this, mind you the light was terrible that day, fancy going back Stevie?
Positive PressureMemberAbsolutely inspirational work here Ritchie, both shots are excellent. The results were definitely worth your efforts. :)

shutterbugParticipantGreat shots, love the colour and detail you have captured in the rocks, just one question……..why “Bloody Bridge” is that the area name?
richiehatchMemberWow thanks guys….! Yeah Bloody Bridge is the name of the bridge that the roads goes over I think… could be the area too… not sure…. any of you locals know…? There is a story behind it as far as I know just cant remember it…!
Thanks again…!

Was used in by gone years by smugglers to smuggle illegal contraband ashore at this point.
For a better description see the book “10 walks with the weatherman” (not sure if volume one or two) which describes walks in the Mourne Mountain region of County Down and illustrated by photographs taken by the weatherman himself who hails from the region.
nfl-fanParticipantWow.. just happened upon this old post by fluke and I have to say these are great shots.. just my cup of tea.
