‘Blow-up’ landscape accessories

I was at Jessops yesterday, and I saw their new ‘blow-up’ accessories for landscape photographers – there were blow-up birds, and blow-up rocks with coloured leaves on them etc. The idea is you simply blow them up and position them for instant foreground interest. They were very realistic and much better than they sound. They stick into the ground with little spikes with velcro straps. What will they think of next???
They also had the new Canon 7D on show – 16MP, 8 fps, and medium format sensor!! They were giving the landscape accessories away free for anyone buying the 7D (£3,500).

Yeah, they’re great. I got a blow up elephant last year. Hardly worth the two days blowing though. Fun trying though but it was kinda unbelieveable in downtown Wexford…

That 7D looks like a great camera, cheap too, for what you get. 20mp sensor, in-built GPS, clock radio, tea making facility, and a really useful x-ray vision feature, which is nice.

My spaggetti crop is also coming on a treat this year, hopefully a bumper harvest.

wonka: I heard you got the blow up sheep… to go with those calf hugging wellies you were sporting up in Bunclody a couple of months ago.

I just ordered the 7D from Hong Kong… expecting delivery early next week.. can’t wait.

    Har-de-har-har!

Can you get sheep John? Perhaps you might advise us on the best make given your obvious knowledge of such things. I hear you’re a sucker for sheep.

We don’t need that sort up in Bunclody. We’ve got enough freaks up there for now

Can’t believe I missed the launch of the new 7D, will have to have a serious search on google for it.

I particularly like the feature of being able to switch it from left-handed to right-handed use.

… and the optional radar screen.

I’d heard it had IS built in but it may be only a rumour. It would be a silly thing to do, wouldn’t it?? That along with the built-in 8Gb HD.

I would be delighted with left hand / right switch but I think the built-in 8 Gb HD would be a bit small. I’m a little confused about the optional radar screen, I will have to return to google again.

Best feature though is the windcreen-wiperesque lens cleaner… comes out of body like a an inspector gadget hand …. genius.
