    Hey.

This is my first post in this section.

The longest lens I have is a 70-200 so the zoom isn’t great.

    Martin.

Hi Martin. I would be happy to have taken this shot. 200mm isn’t a great focal lenght to use for this type of photo, but you have successfully captured the eclipse. The image looks a little soft, but a little sharpening in PS might bring out a little more detail. Well done

Well done Martin, especially as it was so cold out last night :) I have a couple waiting for processing
but now the gallery is gone I dont know how to upload :D :D I love moon pictures and they are very
hard to get right, but with the equipment you used you have done really well, and a bit of useless
information……….it has been 353 years since a partial eclipse of a blue moon has been seen in Ireland on
    New years eve!!! :D

shutterbug: Funnily enough i knew that (Astronomy Ireland).

miki g: It was my first time shooting the moon so I don’t think I did too bad.

Nice shot Mutly ….A slight sharpen would do it a power of good.

Probably too much of a sharpen but I like it.

    Martin,
Good to see someone else here took a go at this astronomical event.
Good effort and well done on braving the cold! ;-)

200mm you are pushing the lens a bit to be honest.
I took mine at 400mm, and it need every bit of it and a bit more if I had it.
Might invest in a teleconverter sometime.
    Sharpening helped nicely.

I’ve have a 2x teleconvrter lined up already and the next lens on my list is a sigma 150-500. Effective range of 1600mm, sounds nice to me. Haha.

I should mention I braved the cold by being setup inside my front door which is west(ish) facing and opening and closing the door every few minutes. Managed to shoot the whole lot in a t-shirt!!

    1600mm…I hope a tripod will be used… :-)
