Blue Tit Different Perch

Very nice John, your perch and background look excellent and also very natural. I also like the reflection of the sun in his eye.
Dave.
PS, I can’t believe this image hasn’t received a load of comments already. It’s been viewed 18 times and no one could be bother to say what an excellent shot it was, I think we’re all getting very lazy.
shutterbugParticipantIt is indeed a nice shot, colours are super the mossy perch is perfect against
the background colour, well done John!steelydanParticipantThanks Dave and Jenny, my only critique about it was , the composition is a bit off for me, i would have liked more room to the left of the bird (to have him/her look into) and maybe the colours are a little over saturated. Again its an addition to the perch on the right hand side of the photos i sent you both, easy to change them when you find an interesting branch. I have a branch with small pine cones for this weekend and looking forward to see if i can train them to land on that… haha
Weather permitting.. must have gone through 4 stone of seed/nuts/fatballs. so far
miki gParticipantVery nice John. I would prefer if you had shot it in landscape format as it would allow more space in front of the bird.
steelydanParticipantSeaviewParticipantYes John, the second image does look better from a compositional point of view but I think we’ve all seen similar images hundreds of times. Your first image breaks the rules but that’s why I liked it.
Dave.
dolinaParticipantSeaRunMemberI hardly have the experience to qualify for a respected opinion on the pictures, but I agree with SeaView on liking the first one better.
May I ask your gear used and brief exposure details?
steelydanParticipantAll shot with the following
Canon 1D MKIV
Canon 300mm f2.8 with Canon 2X converter MK IIIExposure was ISO400/ aperture f5.6 /Shutter Speed 1/1600 sec
Hope that helps
