One of the reasons that I like this is because I have one and this makes me feel like loading up a roll of 120, is it a little soft of the front bottom lens or is it my screen, otherwise a great image.

    Probably more than a little…
But it’s quite sharp in places, and some of those places might be unexpected-

It’s taken at quite large magnification, on a fast lens without a diaphragm,
so all the work went into fretting over the composition and placing the plane of focus-

I did quite a few of these, time to move on to other subjects now, I think-
Still life is actually quite difficult to do properly, or even, to attempt to do properly.

    Thanks for the comment Paul-

just to put the softness into some kind of perspective-
this is a 24x36mm crop from the negative-

Magnification is about 0.5x, focal length 270mm at f/3.3, giving an effective aperture of around f/5.
So, not a huge amount of depth of field-

Forgot to mention, the other faff was with the lighting…

That looks a lovely piece of kit. :) What do you use to get such a nice reflection?

    Thanks Connie-

It’s all laid out on a grey porcelain tile-

I would never have thought of that! I have used mirrors but find them too harsh for some things. Thanks for sharing that :)
