Boardroom lady…

Interesting shot, she certainly looks quite scary. I hope those things around her neck are not trophies.

Very Good John. Tee hee.
Ellude, I reckon this photo is good, but the extreme slope just ruins it for me,
especially with that mug up there – how come she’s not getting a face-full of tea?
The focus and depth of field seem to be perfect for the shot. Same for hair, clothes,
make-up etc.KWBarbsParticipantI agree totally with Pete on this one. The picture is very sharp and well composed, it is just the steep angle that throws it for me. It is a bit too severe IMO.
Kieran.
marble masterParticipantpihjinMemberwow she looks like a lady to be reckoned with.
As mention above I think the slope (emphasised by the fact you can see the desk) make’s her seem like she’s ‘falling out’ of the frame.

Wicked :D
Thanks for the comments and I’d agree that she maybe looks a bit too scary in that shot. This lady’s business is mostly about negotiation, however, and she is known for being good at it, so I wanted to avoid a too-friendly or demure look (in the past she has hammered out deals with people like car union bosses etc). More along the lines of ‘tough but fair’, although ‘approachable’ would undoubtedly be important too.
Here’s another pic, maybe looking even tougher than the first shot because of the clenched fist. Afraid I went for an angle again (by tilting the camera rather than cropping, so not much I can do about that)
And another where she is looking a bit more friendly (this is probably my favourite one)….
Another pic, with a different look again….
Minimal editing on these pics, mostly just resized for posting. They were taken in a room with a mix of natural light and halogen overhead lights which have given a bit of a yellow cast on some.
guthrijParticipantI like these angled or not. I would love to see an analysis of these by a body language expert.
Cheers, John
elludeParticipantThanks John. My impression is of someone very focused on their job, but who would probably also be great fun if out for a pint in the evening….!
Cliff
KWBarbsParticipantThese are very good – I particularly like the second image in your second post… very well captured.
